  •  Love the soundtrack and overalll a great creative approach. The use of narrative makes the video really engaging for the audience.
  • Very nice range of shots and camera movement-In particular the OTS and POV shots. Great framing!
  • A few shots incorrectly labelled (e.g. mid shot) Would be EBI but lots to credit here 
Student Feedback
  • Good narrative but need more camera shots
  • I like the background music and he used a range of shots
  • Music worked well but it was hard to understand what was going on at the end

  • Some shots were hard to recognise
WWW: I think the music hints to the audience where the plot is going while also making it a bit more engaging for the audience as the video progresses with it. Had a decent amount of shots that were mostly used correctly. The narrative seemed to be creative.
EBI: I need to make sure the camera is steady when doing shots like the panning or tilt (Could also retake these shots so I can compare them and see what works best) and involve dialogue to make the narrative a little less confusing for the audience to make it a bit more transparent in which direction the story is going.

  WWW: You started really well with the film poster analysis and your mise-en-scene analysis tasks. I really like the choice of still image to analyse and you’ve also picked out some good elements of the mise-en-scene in the Get Out scene. You’ve written in some detail for those first two blog tasks and that’s something you want to continue and build on as the course develops because A Level is a very demanding standard. EBI: The isolation and illness going around this half-term have made things very tricky but it’s now crucial that we get back on top of the workload because constantly being behind makes for a tough year. You are missing four pieces on the coursework side but I’m confident you’ll be able to catch those up over half-term. Remember, for the mise-en-scene recreation you can now simply submit detailed planning rather than the full video. 1)  Clockwork Orange-  The music choice isn't what I would expect from this type of scene from that movie with all the chaos going on around it as the guy hits them all into the water and holds a knife. I believe the director chose this music to show us what hes thinking not just from there internal monologue but through non diagetic sound. The characters mind sees his actions as methodical and planned so everything going on is within his control.   Funny Games- At the beginning the music seems to be parallel to whats going on in the scene with a nice calm and classic song maybe trying to show that the family is just your everyday normal group of people. Then near the middle the music takes a drastic shift and becomes contrapuntel to whats going on. The director might be trying to say that underneath the façade of them being normal they're lives are in constant chaos. The 2nd music was loud and a obnoxious.
