Editing Learner response

1)

  • Export setting - Not full screen
  • Excellent creative response - Meets brief perfectly with some very nice touches ( Props, Setting, Lighting, Framing of shots).
  • Good use of music in places (Although it seemed to cut out at one point). Dialogue could have been a little clearer in places too.

3) I seemed to have completed all the requirements on the brief (Match on action, 180 degree rule, Shot reverse shot). The video could have had more time spent on it in terms of editing as it may have solved a few of its problems (Making the video full screen). Music was used to elevate tension but it could have had a better ending as it abruptly cuts off near the end without a trace. 

4) The strengths of my video in my opinion would be its setting as it reinforced the tension the narrative tries to create visually. It was prepared beforehand to use like an interrogation scene with its several lights and silent atmosphere

5) I found the most difficult part of editing to be shot reverse shot as you must record the same scene with very similar actions for different angles and try to make it all flow naturally and make the transition between the two seem seamless.

Music video- The specials: Ghost town

1) The writer links the song back to cinematic soundtracks in order to reflect and engender anxiety  2) 2 Tone emerged from the mod and punk subcultures in a stylistic sense. Its foundations were ska and the related Rocksteady. 3) The social contexts that were discussed regarding the late 1981 was that England was hit by a recession and riots were breaking out across its urban areas. Young people, black and white, were deprived angry and forgotten. Left to fend for themselves, many of them were unemployed and got into pitch battles with the police. 4)I believe the most eerie thing about ghost town is the cold and empty environments with only the performers ever being on screen and whenever they give you a perspective outside it all seems cold and unwelcoming. Especially at the night portion of the video where this eerie feeling is a lot more intensified during scenes like they're shadows fighting. 5) The writer suggests that the meanings created from this music video are the mournf

  WWW: You started really well with the film poster analysis and your mise-en-scene analysis tasks. I really like the choice of still image to analyse and you’ve also picked out some good elements of the mise-en-scene in the Get Out scene. You’ve written in some detail for those first two blog tasks and that’s something you want to continue and build on as the course develops because A Level is a very demanding standard.
